Writing can be a lonely profession, because mostly we do it alone at our desks, lost in a world that no one else can see yet. Of course, that has its perks. We get to work in our PJs and if we have a bad hair day, who’d know? But truth is, there’s nothing more exhilarating than being in a room full of writers, talking about story — either for real or digitally (my hair looks great! no, really).
That’s why today I am so excited I can hardly sit still, because I get to join one of the smartest, most creative, savvy roomful of writers on the Internet – Writer Unboxed. For me, it’s a dream come true.
I’m there today, writing about why we’re wired for story. Hey, did you know that the brain craves, hunts for, and responds to the same thing whether you’re writing literary fiction or a down and dirty thriller? Want to find out what it is? Click here and find out. The door’s wide open, and we’d love to know what you think!

I’m so happy you’ll be a regular contributor at WU, Lisa! It’s the only blog I read every single day. The variety and quality of the contributors is the best in the biz–and the addition of you only makes it better. No pressure, but we’d love to have you in the facebook group as well.
The email notification for this post finds me about a third of the way into Wired for Story. This book is gonna rock my ms! Thanks!
Congrats and yay! Writer Unboxed is a great group of even greater minds. Where ever there’s smart, hard working professionals, there will be results and an awesome community. It’s great you’re among them!
